TALAE Bylaw Revision Notice & 30‑Day Comment Period (March 4–April 3, 2026) TALAE is conducting a formal review and update of its bylaws to ensure they continue to support strong governance, member representation, and the evolving needs of adult education across Texas. All members are invited to review the proposed revisions and participate in the 30‑day comment period from March 4–April 3, 2026.

Bylaw Amendment Process and Approval by General Membership
  • Members must receive the proposed amendments and notice of the vote at least 30 days before the meeting.
  • Notifications may be delivered via email or posted on the TALAE website.
  • Adoption requires a two‑thirds (2/3) majority vote of eligible voting members present.

Approval by Electronic Ballot
  • Members have 30 days from the date the proposed amendments are distributed to return their ballots.
  • A two‑thirds (2/3) majority of eligible members who submit ballots must vote in favor for the amendments to pass.

Membership Voting Guidelines
  • Eligible Voters: Only Adult Educator – Full‑Time and Adult Educator – Part‑Time members hold voting rights.
  • Ballots: Each eligible member receives one official ballot.
  • Voting Methods: Voice vote, show of hands, roll call, written ballot, or secure electronic methods (email or web‑based platforms), as determined by the presiding officer.
  • Quorum: A quorum is established by the eligible voting members present at a duly announced membership meeting.

Members are encouraged to review the proposed revisions and submit comments or questions during the 30‑day window. Your feedback ensures the bylaws reflect the needs and perspectives of adult educators across Texas.
