South Central Representative Candidates
Steven Chavez
I have dedicated five years to adult education, initially as a part-time instructor while pursuing my master's in statistics at Texas A&M University of Kingsville. Upon completing my degree, I continued teaching for the Crossroads Adult Education Program, honing my skills along the way. Progressing from part-time instructor to the program's first full-time instructor afforded me the opportunity to delve deeper into adult education methodologies. As I immersed myself in the role, I began exploring the process of testing and data analysis, identifying areas that required attention.
Participation in the LEA cohort five further enriched my understanding, culminating in presenting my project on enhancing MSGs through a high-touch case management approach. During this experience I was promoted to Program Coordinator in October 2023, granting me a comprehensive understanding of adult education from intake to completion.
As the South Representative for TALAE, I am committed to continual learning and aspire to deliver exceptional service, leveraging my expertise to benefit the adult education community.
